The Union Health Ministry today made a statement saying that all those who are tested positive for coronavirus and recovered completely should have to wait for three months to get vaccinated from the date of their full recovery. The statement was made after the recommendations are accepted by the National Expert Group on Vaccine Administration for COVID-19 (NEGVAC). The coronavirus vaccine is also recommended for all the lactating women. All the recovered patients should get monoclonal antibodies or convalescent plasma.

All those who are tested positive after taking their first dose of coronavirus vaccine too will have to wait for three months after their clinical recovery to take the second dose of vaccination for coronavirus. All those who are ill and are in hospital in the recent times should wait for 4-8 weeks before taking the vaccination dose for coronavirus. An individual can also donate his or her blood after 14 days of taking the vaccine for coronavirus or testing negative for coronavirus through a RT-PCR test. The National Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation in India (NTAGI) suggests to defer with the coronavirus vaccination by six months after their recovery.
