The United States of America is said be a host for the Khalsa University which would be established in the city of Bellingham soon. It has been said that the Khalsa University that is going to be established in Bellingham would be the first campus of the university outside India.

Nearly 125 acres of land in the city of Bellingham in Washington state have been donated by a group of Non Resident Indians (NRI) and are also working in order to start the teaching proposed courses in around a year or so.

The teaching work has already been started by the community Khalsa college and a Khalsa school as a precursor stating that all the formalities that have been connected to the Khalsa University have been completed.

US- based Manjit Singh Dhaliwal who has donated the land along with the other US- based Sikh families has said that the work has begun last year in the month of August.

He added saying that two buildings of a government college has been purchased with the help of the community members in order to run the course and licenses have been received from the education board and the local government.

The Director of the Khalsa University Manjit Singh Dhaliwal had met Prof BS Ghuman who is the Vice- Chancellor of Punjabi University in order to extend the help regarding academics that is required to set up the University and all kinds of helps has been provided by Prof Ghuman which includes the supply of the complete literature that is related to the Sikh religion in the form of digitized books, journals, scriptures and all the other types of literature that which is available with the Punjabi University.

Manjit Singh Dhaliwal and Prof BS Ghuman have agreed to work in collaboration for promoting the cause of Sikhism through the exchange programs of faculty and the students, by holding seminars and training workshops etc.

The Khalsa University is said to be planning to offer several courses apart from gurbani research, Sikh history and gurmat sangeet. The courses are said to include engineering, medicine, law, languages, accountancy being few among several other courses that the Khalsa University is planning to offer.
