A man from Andhra Pradesh has killed himself as he feared that he had contracted the novel Coronavirus. The 50 year old man is said to be identified as K Bala Krishna who is a native of Seshamnaidu Kandriga village in Thottambedu mandal of Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh.
However, the doctors who had treated him had confirmed that he had been suffering from a viral fever and had not shown any symptoms of Coronavirus. The relatives of the victim has said that he had killed himself in order to stay away and to avoid his wife and children getting infected with coronavirus that he had believed that he was suffering with.
K Bala Krishna had watched videos related to coronavirus and its symptoms in his mobile phone and started to believe that he had been suffering from the deadly coronavirus. He had locked his family in his room on Tuesday and had walked to his mother’s grave. Lakshmi Devi who is the wife of K Bala Krishna had called up the neighbors who had rushed and had opened the door. No sooner did the door was opened than the family members rushed to the grave but failed to stop K Bala Krishna from killing himself as they had found his body hanging from a tree near the grave by the time they had reached the place.
Bala Murali who is the son of K Bala Krishna said that his father had been ill for the past few days and had paid a visit to the SVRR government general hospital in Tirumala on the 5th of February. He added saying that the doctors has advised him to wear a mask so as to make sure that the infection does not spread to others.
After spending a couple of days in Tirupati, Bala Krishna had returned to his village believing that he had been infected with the coronavirus. He had told his family members that he had contracted coronavirus and had asked them not to come near him. If any of the members of the family had tried to approach him he would throw stones at them and would shoo them away.
Venkata Subbaiah who is the police sub- inspector of Thottambedu has said that the family had refused to lodge a complaint and therefore no case has been registered regarding the issue.
No cases of coronavirus has been reported in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
