Civilian Employee Suspended For Cheering Black Student’s Stabbing

Maryland police have suspended a civilian employee Welby Burgone after the racist comments made by him on Facebook about the black student’s stabbing in the University of Maryland.

2nd Lt. Richard Collins III, a student in University of Maryland has been stabbed to death on early Saturday morning and the police have charged a University of Maryland student Sean Christopher Urbanski with the first degree and also second degree murder, reported by the Baltimore Sun.

Social media of Urbanski was exploded with the comments, including one comment from Burgone, who is also the  classmate of Urbanski’s from the high school. Burgone, who worked at the department’s communications, was responding to a comment from another, who is a friend of Urbanski.

“F*ck yeah Sean!!!!!” the other man posted a comment over the photo of a screen capture of a screen shot and released by the police, said The Sun.

“That’s what happens when n***ers try and get frosty with an OG! Talk sh*t, get stabbed lol,” replied Urbanski.

Then, Burgone replied the comment with an image of a crab holding a knife and said, “You mess with crabo You get stabo.”

The Police Chief Timothy J. Altomare said that the comment was “extremely insensitive” and also agreed that the comment appeared to be racially motivated.

“The actions of this employee are a betrayal of the values of the Anne Arundel County Police Department. Any employee who espouses or supports hateful or racist ideology will be held accountable and we will not allow the public’s trust in their police department to be eroded,” Altomare said in a statement.

The Facebook comment violated the department’s Professional Standards and as a result of his action, he was suspended by the department. Both Burgone and also Urbanski appear to have been graduated in the year 2012 from the same high school, according to The Sun.
