Remember the infamous convener of the right wing outfit Sri Ram Sene, Pramod Muthalik? Yes, the same leader of the Rashtriya Hindu Sena who shot into headlines five years ago, in 2009, for allegedly raiding a pub in Mangalore in broad daylight and hunting down the women, pushing, shoving and beating them up to ensure they don't forget their place in the world — that of being a doormat to be walked over by noble men like them.

The BJP almost shocked the daylights out of the alleged “fairer sex”after it went ahead and inducted the notorious leader into its fold, raising all eyebrows and inducing terror in the minds of all women, who wondered that despite all the tall-claims by impending Modi Sarkar of making the country a safer haven for women under his reign, how could the party take Muthalik under its wings. However, the party and Narendra Modi were quick to understand its dangerous implications and at once set aside Muthalik's membership.

Comprehending the controversy that would ensue Muthalik's inclusion in the party, the party top brass at once intervened and called off the decision.

According to the sources, Muthalik was inducted by the Karnataka unit of the BJP and that the central leadership had little idea about the developments then.

Muthalik, who is facing 50 cases, ranging from violation of Section 144 to communal violence and is out on bail in several cases, is a big Modi fan and had sought a BJP ticket from Belgaum North in the Assembly election held in May 2013.
