Emma Watson, Hollywood's little wallflower, has always been shy of revealing a wee bit much on the red carpet. But, at the end of the day, the 23-year-old actress has had more sartorial slip-ups than anyone else in the tinsel town.
Recently, during the premiere of Noah, Watson gave the world a good view of her SPANX (something even worse than going commando). The Brown University senior walked into the Leicester Square wearing a bespoke Ralph Lauren Collection column halter gown. She accessorized with Anita Ko earrings, Jennifer Fisher cuffs and a Jimmy Choo clutch. As she struck a pose for the paparazzi, she ended up baring more than required.
Watson's "whoopsies" moment is just the latest in a long line of embarrassing events.
Back in 2012, during the premiere of "At the Perks of Being a Wallflower", Watson unknowingly gave the world a long shot of her left nipple pastie. In February 2011, at Finch & Partners' pre-BAFTA party, her left breast fell out of her low-cut mini-dress. Perhaps her most infamous 'malfunction' was when she accidentally revealed her knickers at the 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince' premiere in July 2009.
To avoid such 'whoopsies', Watson collaborated with a stylist years ago. "I have to at this point," the British movie star once told in an interview. "When I was younger, I used to do it all myself, but I've had to get help because it's gotten to a stage where I can't show up in my Converses or whatever I bought from High Street. And just practically, these gowns are ridiculous. You're being photographed from every angle, so not only do you have to consider how the thing looks, but whether you're going to be able to sit in it and whether people are going to be able to see up your skirt."
Being13 years in show business now, does the thought of going wrong on the red carpet unnerves Watson?
"As a younger woman, that pressure got me down, but I've made my peace with it." said Watson.
"With airbrushing and digital manipulation, fashion can project an unobtainable image that's dangerously unhealthy. I'm excited about the ageing process. I'm more interested in women who aren't perfect. They're more compelling."
