That Katy Perry and John Mayer are no longer together is a stale news.

What is making headlines now is the real reason behind the surprising and uncalled for breakup.

Insiders reveal that Perry's upcoming tour was apparently the bone of contention between the two lovebirds. Perry was so involved with her work commitments that she barely had any time for Mayer. With a packed schedule, running from May to November, Katy had little to no time to spare for her personal life.

Incidentally, Mayer is also booked for a worldwide tour from April to June.

Of late, the two were increasingly spotted sans the company of each other. Mayer didn't accompany Perry on her London and Milan trip. She was also spotted enjoying Miley Cyrus's Bangerz concert alone.

Despite some early hiccups, the musical pair was one of Hollywood's hottest and most talked about couples.

Their rocky romance took off on summer 2012. They split briefly, reunited, called things off again last March, again reconciled.

This makes us wonder if things are over and done between the two or is there a strong chance of them getting back together again? Wonder!
