No matter how much Hollywood boasts of liberality, it's still very much a man's world and how.

Not just the actresses are hysterically under-represented on the screen, but even the most successful ones are paid significantly lesser than their male peers.

If you take the example of the last year, not even one of the 10 biggest payments made to the actors went to a woman.

According to an analysis report by the New York Film Academy, out of  Hollywood's best paid 10 male and 10 female stars, only Angelina Jolie could cut into the men's list of earning, lagging behind all but two.

And while, she grossed a whopping $33 million in 2013, her pay packet was dwarfed by the highest-earning actor in Hollywood,  Robert Downey Jr, who pocketed $75 million last year.

If that was an eye-opener, the next thing you are about to read could be a shocker. The study found that 'age' significantly dominated the numbers in a woman's paycheck.

Most top-grossing Hollywood actors are in their 40s, with Tom Cruise and Denzel Washington in their 50s and Liam Neeson aged 61.

In contrast, most top earning actresses are in their 20s and 30s while the oldest, Sandra Bullock, is just 49. The gender inequality is rampant on-screen and even in their pay packet.
