Passenger train numbers that have collided: 12841(Coromandel Express) and 12864 (Bengaluru - Howrah Super Fast Express). Followed by the triple train tragedy nearly 290 people died and more than 900 were been injured and undergoing treatment in the Balasore district. The disturbing accident visuals on television and social media touched the people of Odisha. The local crowd showed up their spirit towards this heart-wrenching incident. People lined up to donate blood for the injured in the horrific incident in the late night hours.

Helicopters are landed under the site. Rescue operations are undergoing. Several bodies are still trapped under the overturned train bogies. All seats on the train were seen hanging and the situation is very serious. People were having their dinner and the food was spilt inside the bogies. Indian army also participated in the rescue operations. Many agencies are trying to rescue the passengers mangled inside the coaches.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister addressed the media and Saturday was announced as the mourning day. A special help desk has been arranged in Chennai Railway station to assist and to provide information for all the passengers travelling. While people who are rescued and escaped from the incident are taking their social media accounts, thanking god and expressing their luck.
