The other day, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) conducted a study and published exceptional results of immunity in those who had taken the mixed doses of Covaxin and Covishield. Several countries of the globe completed the trials and are vaccinating people with mixed doses. The Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) reportedly approved the trials for the mixing of the Indian coronavirus vaccines: Covishield and Covaxin. The mix-and-match study will be conducted by the Christian Medical College in Vellore as per the latest reports. The clearance for the trials came 11 days after the Subject Expert Committee (SEC) of the CDSCO (Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) recommended for the mix-and-match trial.

The panel of the SEC also recommended granting permission to Bharat Biotech to carry a study on the interchangeability of Covaxin. The DCGI is yet to make the decision about this and it will be announced at a later date. The recent ICMR study told that immunity conducted on 98 people in Uttar Pradesh showed great results. The study also said that the combination of Covishield and Covaxin was safe when compared to the same dose of vaccines. The mixed regimens will also help you to overcome the challenges of particular vaccines. Covaxin and Covishield are the most widely used coronavirus vaccines in the country. The experts warned of a third wave of coronavirus and close to 40,000 cases are reported on a regular basis.
