A new research has found that children are more immune to Covid-19 when compared to adults.

Blood samples of more than 300 adults and 48 children were assessed and compared with 170 Covid positive patients.

According to findings, there is a particular type of antibody carried by children and this is preventing them from the Covid-19 infection.

This study was done in order to understand the ill-effects of Covid-19.

Further, experts found out that children’s immune systems develop antibodies when the have common cold infections and this is how they are getting protected against the disease.

From a study, it was observed that only five percent of adults have these antibodies when compared to 43 per cent of children.

This research is being led by George Kassiotis. He heads the Retroviral Immunology Laboratory at the Francis Crick Institute.
