This new service launched by Uber will allow users to book for an auto service up to 8 hours and make as many stops as the user wants
Leading taxi aggregator Uber on Wednesday announced the 24 hours autorickshaw service across six Indian cities. The new service launched by Uber will let the users book an auto for 8 hours and allow the user to make as many stops as he/she wants.
The minimum booking time for this service to be activated is 1 hour and the minimum distance is 10 km. However, if you exceed 10 kilometers mark in your ride, you will be charged Rs. 9.50 per kilometer and Rs. 1 for every minute spent.
The base fare for each trip would be Rs. 79. For instance, if you book an Uber auto for 4 hours and cover a distance of say 20 kilometers, you will be charged based on the number of hours you spent and also the total kilometers you have covered.
Even if you make multiple stoppages, nothing would change as the fare would be calculated as per the number of hours you took the ride.
However, the auto rental bookings cannot be changed and the destinations cannot be altered once the drive starts. In cabs, you can avail these options where you can change the destination and cut short the trip.
In the case of autorickshaws, you need to make any suitable changes before you start the trip.
The autorickshaws can be booked for 8 hours but you will have to opt for the 8 hours package which would cost approximately Rs. 809.
This is the India’s first innovation and a prime example of how we can use technology to benefit both the company and the users.
Apart from the auto rentals, Uber is also running the cab services successfully. The ride hailing app also has rental services called Black rentals in which you can book an SUV for multiple hours and multiple kilometers.
The prices for this black rental program of Uber starts at Rs. 380.
If you want to book any type of rental services on Uber, you need to simply scroll down to the bottom of the app and select the type of transport you want to check in and go ahead to book the cab the same way as you book your normal cab.
Uber has suffered immensely due to the coronavirus pandemic and had to lay off thousands of employees across India.
However, since the Unlock 1 has started in June, the cab aggregator has been recovering back to the fullest.
