Sachin Pilot joined the Congress and became Lok Sabha MP from Rajasthan. He was 26 when he won his first election.

Sachin Pilot, a 42 year old rebel congress politician has achieved more than he could at his age. He entered politics following an untoward fatal incident that happened to his father, Rajesh Pilot in 2000. Sachin was 22 years old then.

In 2003, Sachin Pilot has won lok sabha election from Dausa, Rajasthan, the same seat which his father has won four out of five times.

Rajesh Pilot’s legacy has made Sachin acquire his firm place in congress and Rajasthan. Rajesh Pilot was a fighter Pilot and fought in the 1971 India Pakistan war before entering into politics. He took the surname “Pilot” after dropping his original surname “Bidhuri”.

The dark phase in Sachin Pilot’s life started in 2018 with the Bidhuri- Gujjar connection that worked against Sachin when Ashok Gehlot of Mali community took over the chief minister ship.

Let us now go back to Sachin Pilot’s early life and know about him a little more.

Sachin Pilot did his schooling from Delhi and got graduated from St Stephens College of Delhi University. Sachin Pilot always wanted to join the corporate world.

While his father Rajesh was alive, Sachin did not show any inclination towards politics. He wished to join to join the Indian Air Force but found out that his eye sight was weak. Yet, he secretly obtained a license to fly planes.

Surprisingly, before joining the politics, Sachin tried his hands on Journalism. He worked as an intern at BBC news office in Delhi. He also worked for some time with the automobile giant General motors.

When Sachin Pilot was 32, he became a Union minister in the Manmohan Singh’s government. At 36, Sachin replaced Ashok Gehlot as Rajasthan Congress President in 2014.

Though the congress government suffered huge loss with the Modi wave in 2014 elections, Sachin Pilot was not hit hard by it. Four years from the, Sachin-led Rajasthan Congress government had a euphoric win at state elections. But, Gehlot became the Chief Minister of Rajasthan and Sachin Pilot became the deputy CM.

The recent ousting of Sachin Pilot from Congress has something more to do with Ashok Gehlot.

Though Pilot is the deputy CM of Rajasthan, he was being sidelined by Gehlot during the state government’s battle with COVID crisis. Pilot was not included to be a part of the core team constituted by the government. But, Pilot worked very hard and took the sanitization drive to the rural areas.

During the celebration of one year of Gehlot’s government, he invited everyone for the celebrations but kept Sachin away from it. The achievements of Gehlot’s ministers were printed in a booklet that didn’t even mention Pilot’s achievements. But, Pilot took to social media to present his victories.

Sachin’s walking out of the party came after the recent Rajya Sabha polls where Jyothiraditya moved to BJP. Congress blamed BJP of trying to poach its party members and issued an inquiry. Recently, Pilot received a letter of enquiry from the team which infuriated him as he felt that Gehlot has crossed all limits and he quit the Congress.
