In Shopian district of Jammu Krishna security forces killed 9 terrorists within 24 hours. Five of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen terrorists were killed on Sunday morning and four of them were killed in the early hours of Monday.

The security forces went ahead with an encounter in early hours of Monday and killed the militants. Among the killed militants two of them are high ranking commanders. The encounter began in the morning hours of June 8 in the Pinjora area of Shopian district, J and K. The security forces team went on a search operation for the terrorists after learning that they were present in a particular area at that time, a police official said.

Five other Hizb-Ul-Mujahideen terrorists were killed on Sunday morning in the Reban area of Shopian district.

The residents in the surroundings were asked to remain indoors during the encounter for safety.

The security forces captured the targeted area in search of terrorists. It was a search operation only but turned out into an encounter without any plan as the terrorists opened fire at the forces. The encounter was after the gun battle between the security forces and terrorists.

Police department dint reveal the names of the encountered terrorists following the new policy to keep the youngsters away from joining the militant ranks.
