US bans travel from European Countries for 30 days

The President of United States Donald Trump has suspended all the travel from Europe to the United States for a 30 days which is said to be beginning from Friday, seeking to combat the outbreak of the deadly novel coronavirus or COVID-19.

The President Donald Trump has made this announcement on Wednesday in an Oval Office address to the nation while blaming the European Union for not acting quickly enough in addressing the foreign virus and it has been said that the clusters of the United States were seeded by the European travelers.

“To keep new cases from entering our shores, we will be suspending all travel from Europe,” said Donald Trump.

Donald Trump has added saying that the United States had made a lifesaving move by taking an early action on China and that the same action has to be taken with Europe.

The President of the United States has made it clear that the restriction that would be made would not be applying to the United Kingdom and that the situation would be monitored by the United States in order to determine if the travel could be reopened earlier.

Trump has also added saying that he had been directing the agencies for providing unspecific financial relief for the workers who have been ill, the people who have been quarantined or caring for others due to the deadly novel coronavirus and it has also asked Congress for taking an action in order to extend it.

A Presidential Proclamation which has been published shortly after Mr Trump has addressed, which had specified that the application of the ban would be on anyone who has been in the Schengen border- free area of the European Union within fourteen days before their arrival in the United States.

Therefore, it clarifies that Ireland is excluded from the ban as it is not one among the twenty- six Schengen countries. It has been said that Bulgaria, Croatia and Romania are also the members of the European Union without being a part of the Schengen area.

The move that is taken by the president of The Donald Trump is done after the World Health Organization has made an announcement stating the coronavirus out break as ‘pandemic’.

Resident Donald Trump has said that the decision that has been taken regarding the ban on travel from Europe would restrict the people from travelling and not the goods.


It has also been announced by the President Trump regarding the plans being made to provided billions of dollar in loans to the small businesses and has also urged the Congress for passing the major tax relief measures making an attempt to stymie the effect of the outbreak of the deadly novel coronavirus on the economy.
