Chief Minister Raghubar Das admitted defeat as BJP has appeared to be standing in the second place in the elections which were held in Jharkhand. “The BJP will accept the people’s mandate, whatever it is,” he said. It became clear that Jharkhan Mukti Morcha (JMM)- Congress alliance and the rival of Raghubar Das comfortably passed the majority mark of 41.

Raghubar das was also trailing in Jamshadpur East which is the seat that he has been winning since 1995 against Saryu Rai who is from the same party as well.

"There may have been some polarization in a seat or two... there may also be some anti-incumbency, but we are very confident that once the final result is out, you will see that the BJP will form the government. We are very confident of that," he had said.

The result of Raghubar Das not winning the election in Jharkhand was predicted as people from his own party did not like his style of functioning.

Mr. Das is accused of sidelining many key leaders like Arjun Munda, the tribal face of BJP and he neglected the alliance partner of BJP, the All Jharkhan Students Union’s (AJSU) of Sudesh Mahto.

Mr Das’s style of functioning was not liked by many which included his own party members and was known to be short-tempered.
