China has been on a rapid growth, in terms of economy and other prospects of development over the course of time. The rise of China is believed to impose challenges for India and the Indo-Pacific regions. This was mentioned by Kenneth Juster, the US Ambassador to India. The same was said at the India Energy Forum by CERAWeek.

According to the statement issued by Juster, he stated saying, “One of the most important challenges in international affairs is the rise of China as a global power house. A rising China, under any scenario, presents challenges to India and the Indo-Pacific region.”

Emphasising on the vision that the United States has for the global growth and economy, Juster further said that the leaders in the United States, India and other countries like Japan have persistently articulated a vision along with a number of induced principles for ensuring a free as well as open Indo-Pacific.

Some of the principles in that include the need and want for an open and inclusive region including streamlined rules based order. This should also include proper respect for the sovereignty as well as the overall territorial integrity for all the involved countries.

Apart from that, they also do want to guarantee the freedom of navigation, overflight as well as commerce. In addition to that, I also do expect the free flow of the necessary goods and services along with the requirement of the capital and data.

The involved countries also do want all the associated territorial as well as the maritime disputes to be dissolved without any issues as well as in accordance with that of the involved international law. Last but not the least that is included is the need for the private sector led growth, the transparent commercial practices as well as the secured supplies of the energy involved.
