After two months of stillness, Sunanda Pushkar’s case again came into the picture. Upon the city Court’s acceptance, Delhi Police took 6 persons through a polygraph test. The move was seen as the politics of diversion (to divert the nation’s attention from Lalit Modi’s case).

Mr Bassi, The Police Commissioner acknowledges the news that 6 underwent through the lie-detector test and hopes for a few more in the next sitting. He said the report of the polygraph test on the witnesses is awaited.

Police had accused Mr Singh, Bajrangi and Mr Dewan of concealing "material facts" like a power cut in room no. 345 at the Leela Hotel on January 17, 2014 around 7 PM where Sunanda Pushkar was found dead around 8 PM.

In January, police had claimed that Sunanda Pushkar, 51, was poisoned, and registered a murder case against unknown persons.

As a recent development in the Sunanda Pushkar’s case, Delhi Police conducted lie-detector tests to six persons who are suspected to be involved in it.

The prime suspects, including Narain Singh - the domestic help of Shashi Tharoor, Bajrangi – the Driver, Sanjay Dhawan – their family friend. The police interrogated three others as well named
S.K.Sharma, Vikas Ahlawat, and Sunil Takru.

Many have expressed their doubts on the case since the beginning and as per their uncertainty the case takes a snail ride. It’s been almost six months and there is hardly any progress in the case. Nobody was detained so far.

When asked, Delhi Police said that after AIIMS concluded that the Indian Labs cannot detect the poison levels in Sunanda Pushkar’s body, the viscera samples were then sent to Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington. Now, the Delhi Police are waiting for the reports.

So the whole case is now in a waiting phase. If it continues the same, the case will be closed by 2020.
