On "Good Governance day", visit to his Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday made clear about privatization of railways and asked people not to worry about utilization of foreign and private investment in developing the infrastructure.

There is a rumor that railways will be privatised but let me make it clear that we are not going to privatise the railways. It’s not possible to go in that way, nor we are thinking or it’s our wish. He asked union people not to heed into prevailing rumors.

"Railways have shaped my life, nobody can love it more than me," PM Narendra Modi said in Varanasi.

Modi made clear while talking about Make India campaign that available capital will be utilized in maximum level to improve the business within the country and abroad for improving the infrastructure

Railway have been essential part in my life, while campaigning for national elections, he mentioned that, as a child, he sold tea at railway station to support his family.

We don't see railway as mean of transportation or travel, we see it as the backbone which led to development of India.

Railways cost nearly 300 billion rupees a year in subsidies to the government and most of the part of the revenues is spent on operating cost and nothing is remaining for investment.

Change of India's routes has long demonstrated politically touchy. Progressive governments have moved in an opposite direction from modernization, inclining toward rather to utilize the framework to give shabby transport to voters, and employments for 1.3 million individuals.
