Sania Mirza is just one match away from the Australian Open mixed doubles Grand Slam title. On Friday the Indian player and her romanian partner Horia Tecau entered the finals after defeating the Australian pair of Matthew Ebden and Jarmila Gajdosova.

The match lasted for an hour and 13 minutes, where Sania and Tecau defeated Jarmila and Matthew scoring 2-6, 6-3, 10-2. Sania and Tecau had lost the opening set. The pair was unable to earn even a single break point. But in the second set they came back into the match. They held serve and were able to convert the only break point they had earned.

Jarmila and Matthew's nine unforced errors helped the winning pair to stay afloat in the match. But, not a single unforced error was committed by Sania and Tecau in their game.

Sania and Tecau will play the final match against the winner of the second semi-final match between the pair of French Kristina Mladenovic and Canadian Daniel Nestor, and Sino-American combination of Jie Zheng and Scott Lipsky.

If the pair of Sania and Tecau clinch the Australian Open mixed doubles title, then it would be the second Australian Open mixed doubles title for India. Also, it would be Sania's third mixed doubles Grand Slam title. In 2009, Sania Mirza and Mahesh Bhupathi had won the title.
