GOPIO-CT to Honor Six Indian Americans for Outstanding Service to Community

The Global Organization of people of Indian Origin (GOPIO), Connecticut will be honoring six distinguished Indian Americans of Connecticut at 12th Annual Awards Banquet on June 9, for their superior service to the community.
“We select awardees, who made an impact in our society and/or those who provide outstanding service,” said Anita Bhat, President of GOPIO-CT.
The GOPIOs 2018, Connecticut awardees are:
- Rohit Bhalla, Vice President of Stamford Health for Contribution to Health Care Administration.
- Sarbani Basu, Chair of Department of Astronomy at Yale University for Achievement in Basic Sciences
- Hasu Patel, for Community Service
- Sharad Patney, President and CEO of VLink, Inc. for Achievement in IT Services
- Asha Rangappa, a CNN national security analyst who served as a former Special Agent of the FBI and currently a senior lecturer at Yale University’s Jackson Institute for Global Affairs for Service to Govt. and Non-Profit Institutions
- K. Sudhir, James Frank Professor of Private Enterprise, Management and Marketing and founder-director of the China India Insights Program at the Yale School of Management for Achievement Business Management
“These awardees are role models for our new generations and GOPIO-CT has a done great job in building up a good image of India and Indian Americans in Connecticut,” said Dr. Thomas Abraham, Founder and Chairman of GOPIO-CT Awards Committee.
