A unanimous threat letter was thrown at Anna Hazare, a social activist, to dissociate himself from Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi chief minister.
The letter threatens Anna Hazare to be ‘bumped off’ incase he does not dissociate himself from Arvind Kejriwal. In this context, police registered a case under IPC section 506 (criminal intimidation) at Parner police station in Ahmednagar district, said police official from Parner to PTI.
According to the official, "The letter is dated August 7 and is mostly written in English.”
Hazare is warned that the meet similar fate as rationalist Narendra Dabholkar, who was killed in Pune two years back. The Gandhian was also asked to stay back in his native Ralegan Siddhi village, in the threat letter.
Anna Hazare - social activist
India's well-acclaimed social activist, Anna Hazare is a former soldier in the Indian army. He is known well for upgrading the ecology and economy of the village of Ralegan Siddhi, located in the drought prone Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra state.
In 1992, Anna Hazare was awarded the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India. This third-highest civilian award was given for his efforts in establishing this village as a model for others.
