Keep your cool this summer with homemade chocolate ice cream. Store-bought ones are good, but not often as rich, creamy, chocolaty and delectable as homemade ones. This summer break, treat your little ones and your kith and kins to intense, chocolate flavored, homemade ice creams and earn the tag of dessert queen. A no-fail recipe for sure.
Ingredients
¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1½ cup milk
¾ cup heavy cream
4 large egg yolks
½ cup sugar
1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
Instructions
In a pan, whisk together the cocoa powder, milk and heavy cream. Put it on stove and simmer , stirring occasionally.
Add in the the egg yolks and whisk until light.
Slowly whisk in the sugar and about a third of the cocoa mixture. Cook over low heat, stirring often. . Pour the mix into a heatproof bowl and allow to cool for 30 minutes.
Add vanilla and refrigerate overnight.
Next, process in an ice cream maker.
Once done, spread the mixture in a metal vessel, cover with plastic wrap followed by a foil and freeze for another 3-4 hours.
Scoop out big dollops and serve.
