India’s three COVID-19 Patients of Kerala Successfully Recover February 15, 2020 14:32

Three patients who have been identified as being infected by the deadly COVID-19 have been successfully recovered from the infection as on the 14th of February.Thomas Isaac who is the Finance Minister of Kerala has confirmed the recovery of the three patients who have been diagnosed with coronavirus as he had posted in his twitter handle where in he has said that Kerala has won the battle with coronavirus. Just as in the case of Nipah, Kerala has won battle with Corona Virus. All the 3 patients identified have been confirmed by Central authorities to have fully recovered. No case of secondary spread. It has also been said that the third student from Kasargod who has been tested positive for the virus has now recovered but remains under observation for some more time.The health officials of Kerala have relieved about 1,062 people who have been suspected to be infected by the coronavirus and about 2,397 patients are said to continue to be in observation and are quarantined out of which 2,375 are said to be quarantined in homes and the 22 have been isolated in the hospitals.The coronavirus outbreak has been declared as a state disaster on the 3rd of February as the number of COVID-19 cases have increased to three and the declaration has been later on withdrawn on the during last week as there had been no more cases recorded of being infected with the coronavirus.The COVID-19 has started in the Wuhan City of China and the first case has been reported on the 31st of the month of December last year and the count has come up to around 64,000 people being infected around the world and the death toll has increased to around 1,380 people in China.By Shrithika Kushangi

Passenger onboard SpiceJet flight Suspected of Coronavirus February 13, 2020 15:23

A passenger who was on board a SpiceJet flight which was from Bangkok to Delhi has been suspected of having infected with the deadly coronavirus. The person who was suspected has been quarantined after he had landed at the airport in Delhi.A spokesperson of the SpiceJet has said that on the 13th of February, a passenger who was travelling on the SpiceJet flight SG-88 which was said to be operating between Bangkok and Delhi, was suspected of being infected by the coronavirus which is now named as COVID- 19. The passenger had been quarantined after landing in Delhi by the Airport Health Organization (APHO).Earlier, a study has been made regarding the list of countries that are more likely to import the cases of the deadly COVID- 19 by a team of researchers from the Humboldt University in Germany. It has been stated that India ranks in the 17th position among the list of countries.The relative import risk of the deadly coronavirus for India has been found to be 0.219 per cent based on the study that was conducted by analysing the patterns of the sir traffic which connected 4,000 airports across the world and with over 25,000 direct connections between them.The death toll in the outbreak of the China’s novel coronavirus has increased up to 1,369 and the cases that have been confirmed as being infected with the deadly coronavirus has risen up to 60,347.The Wuhan city of China is said to be the epicenter of the disease and the coronavirus had been spread to various countries where as the first death regarding the coronavirus has been recorded in Philippines. Shots Fired at AAP MLA Naresh Yadav’s Convoy February 12, 2020 10:29

Shots have been fired at Naresh Yadav who is an MLA of Aam Admi Party while returning from a temple visit. This attack on the MLA and the volunteers of the Aam Admi Party has been done hours after the landslide victory in the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections where in the party has won 62 of the Capital’s 70 seats.The MLA has escaped unhurt where as one volunteer has died while another has been injured.The Aam Admi Party has posted in its official twitter handle saying that shots have been fired at AAP MLA Naresh Yadav and the volunteers who were accompanying him while they were on their way back from the temple. It has also mentioned that at least one volunteer has passed away due to the wound caused by the bullet that has been shot and another volunteer being injured.The post in the official twitter handle of the party has added saying “Volunteer Ashok Mann has passed away in the attack at AAP MLA Naresh Yadav. Today we have lost one of our family member. May his soul rest in peace.”The attack on the MLA of Aam Admi Party and his supporters has been done at around 10:30 pm on Tuesday night when Naresh Yadav was said to be in the Kishangarh village of south Delhi. He was standing in an open car along with his supporters after he left the temple when unknown persons had opened fire at his car.Mr Naresh Yadav has said that there were celebratory fireworks in the area when his car was passing and he had initially thought that the sound was that of the fireworks that were being lit as a part of the celebrations. The MLA Naresh Yadav has made a move to another car when he had realized that his car has been shot at.Mr Naresh Yadav has demanded the police to check the CCTV footage thoroughly in order to identify the assailants who shot at his convoy in an attempt to kill him, as said to the news agency ANI.“The incident is really unfortunate. I do not know the reason behind the attack but it had happened all of a sudden. Around four rounds were fired. The vehicle I was in was attacked. I am sure if the police probes properly, they will be able to identify the assailant,” Naresh Yadav had been quoted as saying by the news agency ANI.Naresh Yadav had won from Mehrauli assembly seat with the Aam Admi Party winning with a voting percentage of 53.57 in 62 constituencies where as Bharatiya Janata Party has got eight seats with a vote share of 38.51 per cent and Congress party has drawn a blank in the successive elections for the second time in the assembly elections in Delhi.The Mehrauli MLA, Naresh Yadav has defeated Kusum Khatri of the Bharatiya Janata Party with a margin of 18,161 votes.The police sources has said that the attack is believed to be a gang war between two groups as Ashok Mann who has been the victim in the fire that has been shot had earlier shot at another group who have now shot at the convoy of Naresh Yadav.By Shrithika Kushangi

3 Suspects of Coronavirus Admitted to Delhi’s RML Hospital February 11, 2020 10:22

Three patients with the suspected symptoms of coronavirus have been admitted to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in Delhi on Monday.The two persons among the three who have been suspected are identified to be Chinese nationals who have come to India on the 1st of the month January and 29th of the same month, based on the information released by the health officials.The third suspect has been identified as a 34- year old had been in Beijing from 30th of the month November last year and is said to have returned to India on Sunday.Tests have been conducted on the suspected individuals and the samples have been sent for the confirmation. The reports are still awaited.India has recorded three confirmed cases of coronavirus as of now and all the three cases that have been confirmed were recorded in Kerala.Preeti Sudan who is the Secretary of Health has chaired a video conference with the other Secretaries of Health from various States/ Union Territories along with the senior officials from the Ministries of Shipping, Civil Aviation and Home Affairs in order to review their actions and the preparedness for the prevention and the management of the novel coronavirus.She has asked the Health Secretaries of all the States and Union Territories to stay alert and be prepared regarding the outbreak of the deadly novel coronavirus and has also asked to review the availability of the isolation rooms and isolation beds, personal protective equipment kits and the N95 masks.The government of Kerala has declared the coronavirus epidemic as a “state calamity”, a few days ago.The deadly novel coronavirus has been recorded as started in the Wuhan city of China and has spread at an alarming rate to various other countries as well. India Post to start a Digital Parcel Locker in Kolkata February 10, 2020 19:04

The India Post has decided to help the ones miss out receiving their parcels as they would have to leave for their work and there would be no one at home in order to receive their parcels.The Kolkata Circle will be launching a free digital parcel locker service by the end of this month which works with the addressees collecting their respective parcels from the lockers in specified post offices at their convenient time.Amitabh Singh who is the Postmaster general of the Kolkata Circle told The Hindu that the locker system is common in several countries in the southeast Asia region and in the Europe and now it would be made available in India with Kolkata being the city to start with.It has been said that the facility will be made primarily available in two post offices where in one would be situated in the New Town and the other in Sector 5 of the Salt Lake City. These locations have been chosen as these are the places where in hundreds of IT companies are concentrated and therefore those regions are filled with several number of IT professionals working and living in the areas.The addressee will have to provide the locker number as their address and the India post would be dropping their parcels at the locker numbers that have been provided by the addressees and that would be remained accessible for a week and at any hour of the day or night. The locker can be accessed with the help of an OTP as in the locker can be accessed once the OTP that has been sent is entered, with no human involvement.It has been said that the service would be now available only for the consignments that will be received through the registered post or the speed post but in the future, extending the facility to the private courier companies can be considered.By Shrithika Kushangi

SC says, Protesters at Shaheen Bagh can’t Block Public Roads February 10, 2020 17:53

The Supreme Court has said that the protesters who are protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act at the Shaheen Bagh in Delhi cannot block the public roads and create inconvenience for others.Notices has been issued by the apex court to the Center, Delhi government and the police on the pleas as they seek in removing the protesters from the Shaheen Bagh.A bench has mentioned that there exists a law and people have grievance against it and therefore the matter has been pending in the court. With no concern of the existence of the matter in the court, few anti- Citizenship Amendment Act protesters are still conducting protests, said a bench that comprised of Justice S K Kaul and Justice K M Joseph.The bench has also said that the protests cannot be held on the roads as it would cause inconvenience for the public and if the protests are to conducted, it should be done in an area that is identified for the protests.The bench has added saying that no direction would be passed by the court without hearing the other side and the matter has been posted for 17th of February.Amit Sahni who is an advocate and one of the petitioners in the case has said that the extent of right to protest is the question that is to be looked on.The court had replied saying “It can’t be done ex- parte” when the bench has been urged in order to pass some direction, by the advocate Shashank Deo Sudhi who has been appearing for another petitioner and Nand Kishore who is the former BJP MLA.The Supreme Court has issued notice to the Center and the government of Delhi8 saying that the protesters at the Shaheen Bagh cannot block the public roads as it is leading to inconvenience being caused for the public.By Shrithika Kushangi

Four persons have been detained earlier on Wednesday by the Special Task Force of the Lucknow police from the places of Gorakhpur and Raebareli.The founder of Vishwa Hindu Mahasabha Ranjeet Bachchan who was 40- years- old had been shot in the head by an unidentified assailant. Aditya Srivastava who is the cousin of Ranjeet Bachchan has also been injuring in the attack that has been made by an unidentified assailant who has also snatched their mobile phones.An eyewitness to the incident of the attack on Ranjeet Bachchan has been quoted. Nirbhaya Case: Delhi HC to give the Verdict on Hanging of Four Convicts Today February 05, 2020 10:50

The verdict on the central government’s plea regarding the hanging of the convicts in the Nirbhaya case will be pronounced by the High Court of Delhi on Wednesday.The future of the convicts is said to be decided by Justice Suresh Kaith who has been hearing the case. It would also be made clear whether if all the convicts can be hanged together or those with the mercy petitions that have been rejected can be executed earlier.The applications of the convicts had been submitted to the Delhi High Court by the central government with the reasons of the four guilty regarding the case misusing the judicial system which in turn made a delay in their hanging. Their order had been reserved by the high court of Delhi after the completion of the special hearing on Sunday.The verdict is said to be pronounced by the Delhi high court at 2:30pm on Wednesday on the application by the Center. The Nirbhaya’s parents have mentioned the issue before Justice Kaith on Tuesday and had pleaded that the decision to be taken quickly.The curative petition of the three from the four convicts in the Nirbhaya case have already been rejected by the Supreme Court.However, the mercy petitions that have been filed by Mukesh and Vinay were rejected by the President where as the mercy petition that has been filed by Akshay is still pending with the President’s office at the moment.New applications are being submitted repeatedly by the guilty and the mercy petitions are being pending at the court is in turn leading to the postponement as their death warrant has already been stopped twice by the Patiala House Court.A death warrant has been issued by the Patiala high court in order to hang the guilty on the 1st of February but it has been later stopped from being executed as the mercy petition that has been filed at the President’s office by Vinay who is one among the four guilty.The Nirbhaya case is about a gang rape case that took place in the year 2012 and has shook the entire nation. A young woman who was a 23- year- old physiotherapist intern had been gang raped by four men in a moving bus on the night of the 16th of December, 2012 in South Delhi and had been tortured and was later thrown on the streets of Delhi. Unidentified Men Fire Gunshots at Jamia Millia Islamia in Delhi February 03, 2020 10:30

Two unidentified gunmen fired shots at gate number 5 of Jamia Millia Islamia University in Delhi on Sunday night.This incident has taken place three days after a fire had been opened at protests by a Noida youth in Jamia Millia Islamia University in Delhi.The reports say that two unidentified men riding scooty had opened a fire on Sunday night in Delhi at the gate number 5 of the Jamia Millia Islamia University where in one of the witness was wearing a red jacket, says an eye witness.The police say that no causalities have been reported so far.A statement has been issued by the Jamia Coordination Committee (JCC) which is a group that comprises students and alumni of the Jamia Millia Islamia University that has been formed in order to protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act. According to the statement, the attackers were said to be on a red motorcycle.This incident adds up to the two firing incidents in the Jamia Nagar area in a week.The first incident had taken place on Thursday where in a minor fired at anti- CAA protesters who were preparing to march towards the Rajghat from Jamia. A student was reported to get injured in the attackTwo days later, another incident of opening a fire had taken place where in a 25- year- old had fired two rounds in the air at Shaheen Bagh during a protest which was against the newly amended citizenship law. It has been reported that no one has been hurt in the incident.As per the report of the incident that had taken place on Sunday night, two unidentified men had opened a fire at Gate number 5 of Jamia Millia Islamia, one of the them is said to be wearing a red jacket and the scooty which they were riding is said to be of red color bearing the number being either 1532 or 1534.A student had said that they had heard the gunshot to which they had stepped out to see and found that the two unidentified men had been leaving on a scooty.
