Politics of threat won't work- Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spoken in Rajya Sabha during the debate or discussion on President’s address. After thanking the members who have attended the President’s speech, he clearly stated that members should represent states from where they are sent, but not on the party lines to save federal spirit.

During his speech he spoke a phrase “Politics of threat won't work in democracy”, highlighting his reign in Gujarat, where he (then CM of the state) threatened with jail for 14 years. After emphasizing the  role and importance of members, he strongly said that his BJP is not confined to Hindi belt of upper class, which can be understand from the representation from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Kutch to Arunachal Pradesh.

He also said that all the communities Hindu, Muslim, Christian have supported his party. Highlighting the flagship programmes like Jan Dhan Yojana, Swachhata Abhiyaan, and building toilets in schools, he questioned the opposition members whether they are for common people or for corporate?
