Due to the ongoing protests in Kolkata after the gruesome rape and murder of a Post Graduate junior doctor, hospital services around West Bengal have been disrupted. In a shocking incident, a junior doctor who was resting in the seminar hall has been raped and murdered. Post-graduates and medical interns have joined the protests at the state-run medical hospitals around the state as support for the ongoing protests. Doctors are clear and stated that the protests will continue till the responsible person is brought justice.

In detail: Sanjay Rao, who is called himself as a civic volunteer has been arrested for the rape and murder of a junior PG doctor who was resting in the seminar hall at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Sanjay was in alcohol influence when the incident took place and was arrested a day after the committing crime. Even high-ranking officials in the hospital have been suspended for their negligence in security.

Sanjay was around the hospital from August 5, claiming that he was a duty as a civic assistant.

On the 8th Morning: Sanjay Rao visited the hospital in the morning after returning from Kolkata. He is a broker there, who will help patients to get admitted. On the 8th he admitted one patient and left the hospital.

At night on the same day, he returned back to RG Kar Hospital to help the same patient with the X-ray. He was accompanied by the patient's relatives. After staying there for a few minutes, Sanjay left the hospital premises.

August 9th: The next day morning, that is on August 9th he returned to the hospital. At around 1 AM he was in the hospital assisting the patient, whose surgery was scheduled. He remained in the hospital even after the surgery and consumed alcohol with the relative of the patient, hospital backside. Sanjay also provided financial help to the patient's family and even booked an Uber bike for their journey home.

On the same day at around 3 AM, Sanjay went to the third floor of the medicine building at the hospital and immediately entered the seminar room. He came back after 40-45 minutes, where he allegedly raped and murdered a junior postgraduate doctor, who was resting. On the same day at around 4:30 AM, Sanjay left the hospital, went to his barrack and slept. Police in the morning after checking the CCTV footage, went and arrested Sanjay Roy from his barrack. On the same day evening, police after interrogation arrested him and he is now facing charges of rape and murder.
