Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on Opposition allies Rahul Gandhi and Lalu Prasad Yadav, accusing them of disrespecting the sentiments of the Indian majority. Speaking at an election rally in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir, PM Modi compared the duo to the Mughals and accused them of intentionally teasing the people of the country. He referred to a viral video from September 2023, where Lalu Yadav and Rahul Gandhi were filmed cooking mutton together. According to PM Modi, the Congress and INDIA alliance leaders have no regard for the sentiments of the people and take pleasure in manipulating them.

According to ANI, Modi expressed that the intentions of these leaders are similar to those of the Mughals. He stated that while the law does not restrict anyone from eating anything, the ulterior motives of these individuals are evident. Drawing a parallel to the Mughals, Modi claimed that they desire to provoke the people by showcasing videos during the month of Sawan, just as the Mughals demolished temples during their reign. Modi also addressed the controversy surrounding Tejashwi Yadav's video, questioning the purpose behind showcasing it during Navratri and hurting the sentiments of the people. He referred to Yadav as a 'seasonal sanatani' and highlighted the discrepancy in the timing of the video, which was made on April 8, a day before Navratri began.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister criticized the Congress party regarding the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. He refuted their claim that it is solely an election issue for the BJP, stating that the struggle for the construction of the temple predates the existence of the BJP itself. The Congress leaders and their allies resided in large mansions, yet when it came to preserving the sacred sites of their faith, they conveniently turned a blind eye. This was evident when they neglected the need to replace the tent of Ram Lalla.
