On March 31, K Chandrashekar Rao, the president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and former Chief Minister, will be embarking on a visit to certain districts in Telangana. His purpose is to assess the drying crops caused by inadequate irrigation water and to meet with concerned farmers affected by the drought. KCR, as Rao is commonly known, will be visiting the districts of Jangaon, Suryapet, and Nalgonda. Recently, KT Rama Rao, the former minister and BRS Working President, examined the fields in Rajanna Sircilla district on March 28. He claimed that the farmers in the state were facing immense difficulties due to the policies implemented by the Congress government. According to him, the drought being experienced in the state is not a result of natural factors or timing, but rather the responsibility of the current Congress government.

KCR's decision to visit these districts comes at a challenging time for his party, as they are still recovering from their defeat in the recent Assembly elections. The BRS received a major blow on Friday when senior leader and party General Secretary K Keshava Rao decided to rejoin the Congress, along with his daughter and Hyderabad Mayor Vijayalaxmi Gadwal. Srihari and Keshava Rao, both prominent leaders of the BRS, recently had meetings with Congress representatives who extended an invitation for them to join their party. Srihari, a former Deputy Chief Minister, stated that he would take a few days to consider this offer. It is worth noting that the BRS has already lost five sitting MPs, one MLA, and several other leaders to either the Congress or the BJP.

In the meantime, KTR addressed a gathering of BRS leaders, expressing his disappointment in the departure of individuals like Keshava Rao and Srihari during challenging times. He acknowledged their criticisms but left it up to their judgment. KTR reassured the party's members that he would personally support and assist those who have dedicated themselves to the party for an extended period of time. "I will personally be present for the workers who have tirelessly served the party and its leaders," he assured them. Furthermore, he criticized Chevella MP Ranjith Reddy and former minister Mahender Reddy for abandoning the party. He pointed out that they had joined the Congress on the same day KCR's daughter was arrested, seemingly without hesitation, and urged BRS leaders to seek retribution for this act. KCR stood firm, refusing to readmit them into the party.
