The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) suspended the license of the pilot of an Air India operation flight on June 3rd for allowing an unauthorized person into the cockpit. The license of the pilot was suspended for one year and the first officer license was cancelled for one month. This came to notice after one of the crew members on the flight raised the concern.

AI-458 Chandigarh to Leh, the pilot in command (PIC) has allowed an unauthorized person into the cockpit during the departure. This is the third incident happening in Air India in a few months of time. Earlier Air India grounded two pilots for the same reason, that is for allowing a woman into the cockpit of a flight from Dubai to Delhi. The pilot allowed the lady because she was a friend of his and which is not acceptable according to aviation rules. DGCA has fined Rs 30Lakh fine on Air India under “safety sensitive issues”. In April DGCA directed Air India to suspend the entire crew of the Dubai- Delhi flight until the investigation is completed.

Air India spokesperson said that Air India is concerned about the safety and will have zero tolerance on those who breach the regulations and will impose serious basis.
