Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu takes Oath as the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh

Indian National Congress finally had a victory in the recent months. The party managed to bring their MLAs onto a platform though BJP tried to lure some of the party MLAs of Congress. Several names were considered for the role of Chief Minister and the leadership finalized Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. He took oath as the new Chief Minister last evening. He is the 15th Chief Minister of the state and he announced to keep his promises made before the elections. Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that he would implement Old Pension Scheme in the first cabinet meeting that is scheduled to take place soon. Mukesh Agnihotri took oath as the Deputy Chief Minister of the state. Bhupendra Patel will take oath as the Chief Minister of Gujarat for the second consecutive term today.

Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is a four-time MLA from the constituency of Nadaun and is leading the Congress party in the state. Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is a law graduate and reached the position of party Chief over the years. Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu promised a clean, honest and transparent government. He said that Congress will change the system in the coming days. Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Bhupesh Baghel, Ashok Gehlot, Anand Sharma, and Bhupinder Singh Hooda attended the swearing in ceremony of Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. Congress won in 40 constituencies out of the 68 seats in Himachal Pradesh. Pratibha Singh, the wife of Late Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh was considered by the party leadership voted to Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.
