Close to 300 schools in Jammu and Kashmir are facing closure as they are linked to a banned group that came as a new crackdown by the administration of Jammu and Kashmir. Huzaif Ahmad, a class ninth student from the state wanted to become an engineer but his future is puzzled. A secondary school with over 600 students in Budgam are worried as their school would be closed. The management says that the school was delinked from an organization Falah-e-Aam Trust which was taken over by a local community management in the year 2017. 20 schools in Budgam may see a closure because of the past association with the organization.

There are talks that 300 private schools will be shut after they are linked to a trust. The Education Department officials are asked to shut the schools within 15 days. The final decision was taken after the State Investigative Agency found the schools linked to Jama'at Trust. Most of the students studying in these schools come from poor families. Most of the schools are following Jammu and Kashmir's Education Board syllabus and the curriculum of the European Cambridge. As per the recent order, all the schools that are linked to Jama'at will be closed. Jama'at-e-Islami is a banned organization by the government in 2019.
