Yesterday, a thick layer of smog has been spotted over the skyline in Gurugram near the Dwaraka Expressway. The predictions say that Gurugram is the next smog tower of the country after Delhi. Inderjit Singh, the MP of Gurugram directed the officials to chalk out plans to curb pollution as it is increasing at a faster pace. A review meeting was conducted with the officials and serious efforts are being planned to improve the air quality. The levels of groundwater too will be increased and the efforts are kept. Vehicle-free zones in the city are planned to keep a check for the air pollution.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal inaugurated a 24m long structure of smog tower in Connaught Place last year. It has 10000 filters and 40 fans and this is developed by the experts from the University of Minnesota in the United States of America. The tower was constructed at a cost of Rs 20 crores and it can purify the air around 1 km radius at a rate of 1000 cubic metres per second. The Additional Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram, VK Meena revealed that they will be floating tenders to install smog tower and it is planned to be completed in less than six months. The location is yet to be finalized for now. Sachin Panwar, an independent air quality exper said that the air blowing out is also equally polluted.
