During a farewell speech for Ghulam Nabi Azad, Narendra Modi gets emotional and sheds a few tears in the Rajya Sabha.
During his speech for the Congress veteran Modi stated that he he considered Azad a true friend and credited him on his great work throughout the years in running the House, party and India’s development. He also stated that he is one of the most capable men he has ever known.
Ghulam Nabi Azad is the leader of Opposition and one of Congress men’s finest veteran. The Rajya Sabha leader is retiring from the Parliament on February 15 as this is the last date for his term to end.
During his teary farewell, Modi told Ghulam that he would not let him retire and will continue to take his advice as long as he is the Prime Minister of the country.
Modi tearfully gave this speech while sipping on water to stop his tears. He also thanked Azad’s efforts for piligrims in J &K and when people from Gujurat were stuck in Kashmir due to a terror attack. Modi finally ended the speech by stating that there will never be a person who can replace Ghulam for his hard work and compassion.
Ghulam and Modi have been great friends for a while. Even before Modi became the Prime Minister, him and Azad were good friends.
One of Azad’s personal interests is gardening and now that he is retiring, he will apparently spend his time relaxing and gardening in his free time.
