The job postings grew in sectors like software technology, health care and marketing, and the job roles like IT manager and delivery persons are seeing a steady rise.

According to a report from Indeed, a job portal, job searches for remote and work from home jobs have become more popular than ever since February 2020, just when the coronavirus had entered India.

After the lockdown was imposed in India on March 24, the searches for work from home jobs increased and had risen to 442% from February to July 2020.

People are even searching for remote jobs and temporary jobs with flexibility amid the COVID-19 pandemic. A large variety of career options are being searched by people as they want to work at least temporarily in any sector that provides work from home employment, according to Indeed report.

Meanwhile, the IT sector, software technology, healthcare and marketing are the sectors that are posting huge requirement for jobs on the online job portals and the need for IT managers and delivery personnel is also increasing.

The report is based on the data collected from Indeed platform from February to July 2020.

The report also noted that employees are beginning to notice the benefits of increased production and morale leading to more opportunities to work from home and also to work remotely.

According to the data from Indeed, the number of job searches in India from February to July has risen by 442%. This also can be due to loss of employment due to the lockdowns in India.

Companies like Swiggy, Ola, Uber, Oyo, and even some software forms like Cognizant have fired many of its employees due to lack of resources.

Indeed India’s Managing Director, Shashi Kumar had said that flexibility has always been the top priority job seekers, mainly millennials, who today make up 50 percent of India’s population.

He also said that in the challenging times like COVID-19, being able to continue to work remotely or to even work from home for a local company can prove an asset not only to the employee’s skill set but also to the companies who find it difficult to run their businesses amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Job seekers are continuously searching for work from home jobs to earn money from home.

Coronavirus has definitely made lives miserable and is continuing to be a threat to India’s population. Though India has proceeded towards Unlock 3, the fear among people to step out of their houses is still intact as the number of daily cases is seeing a steep rise across the country.

India has reached the 20lakh mark in the coronavirus cases till now.
