The Finance Minister of the United Kingdom has been replaced by Indian- origin British MP Rishi Sunak on Thursday. The Finance Minister prior to Rishi Sunak was Sajid Javid.

Rishi Sunak who is 39 years of age has tweeted saying that he feels honored to be appointed as Chancellor of the Exchequer in the Boris Johnson cabinet. He had married Akshata who is the daughter of Narayana Murthy, the billionaire and co- founder of Infosys.

Sajid Javid who is a Pakistani- origin had unexpectedly resigned as the Finance Minister of the United Kingdom and the Prime Minister Johnson has reshuffled his cabinet and therefore Mr Sunak who was a former Goldman Sachs banker has been appointed as the second most powerful minister in the British government.

Rishi Sunak was previously Chief Secretary to the treasury, Sajid Javid’s deputy and has posted in his twitter handle where in he had praised Mr Javid.

The resignation of Mr Sajid Javid followed the reports that there exists clashes with powerful adviser of Johnson, Dominic Cummings who is a self- styled political disruptor and who is said to be mistrusted by many officials and lawmakers.

The new Finance Minister of United Kingdom Rishi Sunak has been praised as very bright and an excellent choice by a former Bretix minister David Jones.

The British cabinet is now said to have three Indian- origin MPs namely Alok Sharma who was the former secretary of state for international development has been elevated to the role of the secretary of state for business, energy and industry strategy, on Thursday. Sharma who is of 51 years of age will also be the President of the COP26 which is the big- ticket climate summit of the United Nations which is said to be held in Glasgow in the month of November this year.

Priti patel has been appointed as the new Home Secretary by Boris Johnson during last year and an international development secretary portfolio has been held by Priti Patel in the former Prime Minister Theresa May government.

The father of Rishi Sunak was a doctor where as his mother ran a chemist shop. Prior to joining in the politics, Rishi Sunak has worked for Goldman Sachs and a hedge fund. He had then co- founded an investment firm. Rishi Sunak has done his MBA from Standford University.
