Cancer is that one health condition that has been experiencing consistent research power to veil through better ways to combat it. But, with the complexities behind the condition, the number of treatment approaches is also quite limited.

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)’s Centre for Devices and Radiological Health has finally accredited a medical invention as a breakthrough device, designed by a genius mastermind from Bengaluru in India. The device helps with liver, pancreatic and breast cancer treatment in the individuals.

Named as Cytotron, this device has been designed and developed by Rajah Vijay Kumar and has been found to help in the tissue engineering of the cancer cells. This further alters the process by which the proteins involved in this are regulated and prevents the further spreading and multiplication of these harmful cancerous cells.

A communique from the FDA wing also stated saying, “We are pleased to inform you that your device and proposed indication for use meet the criteria and have been granted designation as a breakthrough device.”

The devices will be made in India as there were hardly any parts used in the device that were imported from outside.

The main objective of the Cytotron is to cause degeneration of the uncontrolled growth of the cells and tissues. It is very effective in the treatment for protein linked and the abnormal regenerative diseases like the neoplastic diseases. Owing to that, the same has been found to have extended progression free survival, provide with pain relief and even improve the overall quality of life.

Kumar singlehandedly developed the Cytotron at the lab of Centre for Advanced Research Research and Development which is stationed in Bhopal. He did so in 30 years while doing persistent research on the cellular pathways and the kind of interactions involved with the fast radio bursts.

Addressing his success, Kumar stated saying, “It is a great feeling that after so many years of hard work, against all odds, an institution like the USFDA is designating our work as a breakthrough in the treatment of three types of cancers.”

The interventions with new technology has been a tough nut in today’s date to find but the Cytotron is definitely one of the best ones that deserved the recognition that it has. It is also one of the first Indian devices to get a breakthrough status in the United States.

Finally concluding saying, Kumar further stated saying, “The devices will all be made in India, given that there are hardly any imported components. And our American partner will take the device to the US. Cytotron is already an approved medical device and is in use in the UAE, Mexico, Malaysia and Hong Kong, among others.”

The general principle of usage of the Cytotron is with the help of fast radio bursts (FRB) which are extremely high energy and powerful bursts of electric and magnetic components of the electromagnetic signals to help with the process of recovery.
