Congress government has accused Modi government on RBI printing of 2 types of 500 notes provoked a huge buzz in parliament today and also forced an adjournment in Rajya Sabha.

The congress displayed two 500 rs notes in the Rajya Sabha and claiming they were of two different sizes and designs, alleged the “biggest scam of the century”.

“Today we have discovered why the government took the demonetization decision. The RBI prints two types of Currency notes. These are of different size and different design, How is it possible?” Questioned Congress leader Kapil sibal, waving a placard with two notes.

“We never printed two kinds of 500 notes and 2000 notes”, his colleague Ghulam Nabi Azad alleged. The congress alleged that the BJP is flush with funds because of this.

Whereas finance minister Arun Jaitely has blamed the congress of making “irresponsible statements” and raising such trivial subjects in the house.

“There is no such provision where you flag any paper and say its a point of order…. irresponsible remarks are being made about the currency… Zero hour is being exploited”, said jaitley.

Union minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi questioned the source of the notes.

Mr. Jaitely has also said that he would verify the authenticity of notes. “Given such a big print run there can be an odd case of a currency notes being slightly bigger or not”.

Financial Ministry sources say a slight variation in size and design of notes is possible as they may be printed by 2 different printing press, that doesn’t mean that there are two different sets of bank notes.
