Police have ended the search for a missing new jersey woman and her five year old great grand daughter, after they have been found alive in Virginia.

Barbara Briley a 71 year old woman with her 5 year old grand daughter La’Myra Briley had been missing since Christmas Eve.

According to Virginia State Police Public Information Officer Corinne Geller, on Wednesday an home owner found them on a private property in Dinwiddle County.

Both were safe and sound and were seated inside the silver Toyota Rav4. Soon Barbara Briley was taken to the VCU Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia for treatment.

Police said that La’Myra was alert and unharmed, and was transported from the scene for medical evaluation.

On Saturday, Barbara Briley along with La’Myra left their home in Mays Landing to visit family in North Carolina.  

They both were last seen at an Exxon gas station in Ruther Glen, Virginia.

"I was at work on Christmas Eve and I got this phone call from my mom talking about 'they can't find our grandma or my baby,'" Jamero Briley of Mays Landing told Action News Tuesday.

Jamero Briley is the father of La’Myra and grand son of Barbara.

Jamero said, he had no idea what has happened. He also said that his uncle last spoke to his grandmother over the phone when they were in Virginia and she said that they were lost, but my sister from North Carolina spoke to the Exxon gas station employee, who were the last to see them.

"I spent a lot of time with her and also helped her to get in the right direction but she could not make it," gas station employee Joanna Strange said.

Barbara Briley's niece, Ginger Bittle, said it does not make any kind of sense, her 71-year-old aunt made this exact drive often.

"She made this drive every year, sometimes two or three times a year," Bittle said.
