At the border force talks, which concluded cordially, between both Pakistan and India on Thursday, India asked Pakistan to "talk about the future", according to highly placed sources. India did most talks including issues related to ceasefire violations besides sniper firing against Indian soldiers.
Both the parties agreed upon initiation of coordinated patrolling across the border besides monitoring ceasefire violations. According to sources, major focus was on opening increased communication channels, sector level communications, besides taking it to levels of battalion and post.
An official told IANS that, "India did most of the talking and Pakistan was receptive. The talks concluded in a cordial manner."
"Pakistan mentioned some incidents of the past. We said we would not gain anything from the past. We said if you have 20 points, we have 40 points. Let's device a system so that this situation is controlled," the official added.
While Pak raised airspace violation issue, the infiltration issue was raised by India, which questioned how it was possible without the knowledge of Pakistan rangers. Rangers said that they could not check infiltration, according to sources.
"They said they don't have hi-tech infrastructure along the border like India," an official said.
Pakistan has not raised the issue of involvement of a third party for monitoring truce violations.
