While the customer care of Airtel is flooded with complaints on the company’s poor response to the queries, now the time has come for India’s biggest mobile operator to lodge a complaint on its former employee for stealing and leaking company’s confidential data.

Bharti Airtel, headed by Sunil Mittal, lodged an FIR (First Information Report) on Yasir Majid, for allegedly committing the wrongdoing.

Yasir Majid was a senior most employee in Bharti Airtel working from the past ten years in Jammu & Kashmir. When he was transferred to Odisha on March 2 this year as the distribution head of the circle, nobody expected his resignation in a month’s period. He resigned to his job on April 13 to be effective April 24 and then joined the company’s soon to-be launched rivals “Reliance Jio infocomm” headed by Mukesh Ambani on April 27. Before leaving the company, the former had reportedly stolen the confidential data from Bharti Airtel, India’s biggest mobile operator.

By doing so, he has kick started for a bitter war between two Telcos helmed by India’s top billionaires Sunil Mittal and Mukesh Ambani.

Now Airtel has lodged an FIR at the Infocity police station in Bhubaneswar, Odisha on June 22.

Data that were unauthorized transferred included details of locations of Airtel's base stations used to transmit airwaves and plans for future installations of such equipment, "highly confidential" financial information about the company's BTS wise activation gross revenue details for the Jammu & Kashmir service area and a power point presentation used at the zonal business manager's meeting on February 15.

Speaking to media, Majid denied doing anything wrong. "I have already told Airtel twice today (Wednesday) that I did not transfer any data. I have done nothing illegal. They (Airtel) said they will again have a chat with me tomorrow (Thursday)." He added that Jio authorities hadn't spoken to him on this matter.
