Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh is well known for its committed voice for Hindu nation and empowering the concept of Hindutva. But it has depicted part of Jammu and Kashmir as part of Pakistan in its mouth piece Organiser.

According to Indian version the disputed region is called Pak-occupied Kashmir (PoK), while the Pakistan terms it as the Azadi Kashmir. The publication of a map, in which PoK is shown as the part of Pakistan in its 'Organiser', created much furore in the Rajya Sabha when Leader of Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad raised the issue in the beginning by saying "Jammu and Kashmir is the crown of India and numerous sacrifices have been made to maintain it as the crown,".

Responding on behalf of the government, Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and "we will investigate" the article in 'Organiser', this is "not the view of the Sangh, neither the BJP's and nor that of the government," Prasad said.

In a separate incident, at RSS’ Akhil Bhartiya Pratinidhi Sabha in Nagpur, RSS joint general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale reiterated the voice and version of RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, where he said “(RSS chief) Mohan Bhagwatji has said it 20 times that all those born in India are Hindus. Whether they accept it or not, they are culturally, nationally and DNA-wise the same,” means RSS is claiming that whoever born in India is Indian only.

RSS has been strongly advocating for the repelling the Article 370, which provides special status to J&K State, and the recent comments on Mother Teresa service in India, encouraging re-conversions with ‘Ghar Vapsi’, and criticism on Rahul Gandhi marriage are projecting the varied ideology with the faulty map depiction.

The wrong depiction of the map will become a weapon to the Pakistan side and the separatist leaders to use in various occasions.
