The five-month long search for Steve Ballmer's successor and the new CEO for one of world's leading multinational software corporation Microsoft ends with Satya Nadella, a Hyderabad born tech-whiz and the executive vice-president of Microsoft's Cloud and Enterprise Group.

The 47-year-old charismatic Nadella, who joined Microsoft in 1992, has been responsible for building and running the company’s computing platforms, developer tools and cloud services.

Nadella trumped out a field of talented external candidates that included Ford Motor’s CEO Alan Mulally, Qualcomm Inc CEO-elect Steve Mollenkopf and Ericsson AB CEO Hans Vestberg to win the most coveted post in the tech world.
