It's been just 2 days since Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party assumed office and seems the party can't wait to fulfill the promises it made its political manifesto ahead of the Delhi state assembly polls.
Keeping its promise of delivering free water to Delhites 48 hours of forming the government, Aam Aadmi Party ( AAP) government today announced 20kilolitre of water per month free of cost to the domestic consumers. The free services will be provided from January 1, 2014 onwards.
The crucial decision to provide free water to domestic Delhi consumers was taken in the meeting between chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and Delhi Jal Board (DJB) officials today noon.
During the meeting, it was decided the Delhi Jal Board will bear the expenses for providing water to the consumers for three months. Any consumption of water beyond 700 litre per day will be charged at full amount.
With this, AAP clocks its first big win after forming the government.
