Astoundingly after 12 years in Lower Manhattan, between two buildings in Lower Manhattan, the landing gear believed to belong to either of the flights that crashed into the World Trade Center were found on Friday. The incident dating back to September 11, 2001 has more clues to offer to the world even after a decade.

The landing gear was found stuck between rear of 51 Park Place and the rear of the building behind it, 50 Murray Street,officials of the NYPD said. The metal has been twisted beyond recognition but with a few cables and levers on it. The three feet wide and 1.5 inch tall piece shows a Boeing Co ID number, the police said.

The police added that in the past the wreckage from planes and the WTC were found in and around the building that the landing gear was found.  It is not yet clear at this moment whether the gear belongs to the plane from American Airlines or the United Airlines but police investigators are underway.

It was only after a few surveyors in the area found it while they were inspecting the area for constructing a Islamic Community Center. One of the inspectors found it from the roof and called 911who immediately responded and documented the scene with photos.

Three blocks away from ground zero, the landing gear was flung away after the impact. Officials said that the piece of metal would be "is removed with care as quickly and effectively as possible” to avoid any further damage to the society.

More health and safety evaluations will be conducted at the site to confirm and eliminate any human remains.

This metal piece remains a sharp reminder of the horrific event that killed several thousands on that day.
