Samsung has broadened its Galaxy S25 series with the introduction of the Galaxy S25 Edge, a model designed to deliver top-tier features in a more lightweight and sleek package. Unveiled during a virtual event, this new smartphone boasts a remarkable thickness of merely 5.8mm, ranking it among the thinnest devices ever offered in the esteemed Galaxy S series. It retails for $1,099 in the United States, approximately equivalent to Rs 94,000. In India, the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration will be available for Rs 109,999, while the model with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage is priced at Rs 121,999.

The Galaxy S25 Edge showcases a 6.7-inch Quad HD+ AMOLED screen featuring an adaptive refresh rate that fluctuates between 1Hz and 120Hz. To enhance its durability, the display is safeguarded by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2. Constructed with a titanium frame, the device weighs only 163 grams, specifically catering to users who desire a lighter device without sacrificing performance.

Under the hood, the phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, the same chipset used in the standard S25 models. Samsung claims that the device incorporates a restructured vapor chamber that is thinner yet broader, resulting in improved heat management during intensive tasks. Retaining its IP68 certification, the phone is resistant to both dust and water.

In terms of photography, the device features a 200-megapixel primary camera, said to enhance low-light performance by 40 percent compared to the base Galaxy S25 model. This primary unit is complemented by a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera with autofocus capabilities that also allows for macro photography. For selfies and video calls, a 12-megapixel front-facing camera is included.

Running on Android 15, the device is equipped with Samsung's latest One UI 7 interface, which introduces new AI capabilities such as Call Transcript, Drawing Assist, and Writing Assist, along with Google’s Circle to Search feature. Samsung has committed to providing seven generations of Android updates and security enhancements for this device. Connectivity options encompass Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, 5G, and NFC support.

The phone is powered by a 3900mAh battery that supports 25W wired charging, as well as wireless charging and reverse wireless charging, referred to as Wireless PowerShare. The Galaxy S25 Edge targets users looking for a luxurious experience in a slender design while maintaining high performance, excellent camera capabilities, and extended software support. It will be intriguing to observe how the Galaxy S25 Edge performs in everyday usage scenarios.
