German racing great Michael Schumacher, who is battling for life at the University Hospital of Grenoble, turns 45 today.
The Formula One Champion who has been lying in comatose since Sunday, after suffering major head injuries in a ski accident in the Meribel Ski resort on French Alps, is still believed to be critical.
The seven-time world champion apparently skid and fell and slammed his head against a rock, splitting his two helmet and creating a deep concussion on his skull. Doctors are reluctant to give a prognosis and family members are tight-lipped on his present condition.
Meanwhile, the Ferrari F1 team has decided to hold a "silent vigil" in front of the Grenoble hospital for the birthday of the retired sportsman, who is being kept in artificial coma.
Ferrari have called on all its fans to dress in red and pay a silent tribute outside the French hospital to the greatest F1 racing legend the world has ever known.
