India vs. Srilanka: India won by 41 runs in Asia Cup 2023 and gets a direct slot at the finals. India got a convincing win in the Super 4 match.
After winning the toss, India opted to bat by predicting the pitch conditions.
In total India scored 213 in total in 49.1 overs. Rohit Sharma was the top scorer in the Indian team with 53 runs. In the first 10 overs, India was at 80/0, hinting at the big possible score. But 20-year-old Dunith Wellalage has a different plan, he dismissed Indian star batsmen Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Dunith Wellalage has claimed 5 wickets by giving 40 scores.
Sri Lanka has scored 172 in 41.3 overs. Wellalage was a standout performer. He was excellent with the ball and as well as the bat. He scored 42 runs, showing his brilliance. Indian bowler Jasprit Bumrah has very early wickets of two. Sri Lanka however in the middle came close with a stunning partnership of 63 runs. Hardik, Jadeja and Kuldeep took the final four wickets and secured a place for India in the Asia Cup Final.
