Legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has been named as the fifth most admired person on the planet.
The list, which includes names of 30 people across 13 countries, including India, features four Indians in the top ten and seven in the over-all list of 30 World;s most admired people.
The "World's most admired people poll", conducted by YouGov for Times, surveyed almost 14,000 people across France, Egypt,Germany, Great Britain, the US, Australia, Pakistan, Russia, Indonesia, India, China, Nigeria and Brazil.
Sachin ranked fifth. Six other Indians who made it into the list are BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi (7th), Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan (9th), former President Abdul Kalam (10th), social activist Anna Hazare (14th), Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal (18th) and business tycoon Ratan Tata (30th).
Gates, 58, the co-founder of Microsoft and a billionaire philanthropist topped the list with US President Barack Obama coming close second. Russian President Vladimir Putin raked 3rd, Pope Francis came 4th and Chinese President Xi Jinping stood at 6.
