Sachin Tendulkar expected to be on a song at the iconic Eden Gardens fell victim to a controversial decision by umpire Nigel Llong. On the second day of the India-West Indies Test, he had to leave in just 41 minutes at a score of 10 in the 24 deliveries that he faced.

Tendulkar was trying to defend a delivery from Shane Shillingford when he was declared out. The decision is widely being categorised as dubious umpiring by Llong. The Master Blaster made his displeasure known to the team video analyst by pointing to the height of the ball, on his way back to the dressing room.

Sachin's dismissal, that too cheaply, was heartbreaking to the whole of India as everyone was hoping for a memorable innings. When he entered the ground at the dismissal of opener Murli Vijay there stadium witnessed loud cheers from the spectators. And when he was declared out the entire stadium rose in his honour as he walked back to the pavilion, but there was a tinge of sadness in the ovation.
