Dress

The dress on your first date reveals your character. It's the first thing that he would notices about you. Whether you are a tomboy type or a girlie girl gets revealed with your choice of dress. Dress appropriately but it's advisable to be yourself.

Smile

No doubt you are really interested in him, but don't go overboard smiling over nothing. He'll think you are crazy. While its good to express your interest, but there is no need to appear too interested. When you meet greet him with a warm genuine smile. After that smile when the topic calls for it. Laugh at his jokes if you find them funny, it shouldn't sound forced. But try not to be too serious. Remember everyone likes cheerful people.

Appealing appearance

Your appearance on first date should be appropriate to the place you are meeting. In case you decide to meet at a coffee date don't go for the glam doll look. But you can't look untidy and dishevelled as if you didn't have time to even wash your face before meeting him.

Check contents of your bag

Don't carry too many things in your bag on your date. Men consider such women to be a high maintenance person and are scared to date them again.

Ability to talk

Can you talk on some general topics? While you don't have to be high in IQ for dating success, you can't afford to be dumb either. You should be able to speak on your hobby and some other issues of general interest to everyone. However if you have no interest in a specific topic like Formula 1 racing then you can politely tell him you don't have much understanding on the subject. But avoid faking interest. It won't work for long.
